Linda D. Addison is the first African-American recipient of the Bram Stoker Award and is the only author with fiction in three landmark anthologies that celebrate African-Americans speculative writers: the award-winning anthology Dark Matter: A Century of Speculative Fiction from the African Diaspora (Warner Aspect), Dark Dreams I & II (Kensington), and Dark Thirst (Pocket Book). She has a bachelor of science in mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University and currently works in the computer industry.

Linda Addison has published poetry, stories and non-fiction in Asimov's SF Magazine, Pirate Writings, Tomorrow Magazine, Epitaph.  Animated Objects was her first collection. She lives in New York City.
